Earlier this month, OPPO, one of the largest smart device brands in the world, announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide more secure, stable and flexible cloud services.
Global users of OPPO’s ColorOS operating system are better protected as a result. The cloud-based services are certified by ePrivacy, CSA STAR, and ISO (ISO/IEC 27001, 27018, 29151).
Amazon Web Services
With AWS, OPPO can provide secure data storage services to its smartphone users worldwide. It allows users to easily and securely store photos, videos, contacts, notes and important data in the cloud. The functionality is supported by AWS’ global infrastructure in Singapore, France and India to accelerate the deployment of cloud-based services, including Amazon Aurora (a relational database built for the cloud) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3).
To strengthen OPPO’s compliance and security position, the company leverages a range of AWS security services, including AWS CloudTrail, AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS), AWSNetwork Firewall, AWS Certificate Manager and AWS Artifact.
OPPO remains constantly focused on providing the best possible user experience. AWS’ industry-leading cloud capabilities enable rapid deployment of our cloud-based services to provide a smoother mobile experience to users worldwide. With a secure and reliable customer experience at the forefront, AWS cloud security services help us further improve the data privacy and security of our ColorOS operating system on OPPO devices.
The latest ColorOS 11 operating system, based on Android 11, helps ensure user safety through features such as OPPO’s Private System, Private Safe and Personal Information Protection. Private System allows users to create a separate system account in which apps and data run independently of the original account. Private Safe allows users to password protect their important data in an encrypted environment, making the data unavailable to apps that access other media. For situations where apps require users to grant access to personal information, OPPO’s Personal Information Protection allows users to send a blank data form to the app and access the app without disclosing personal information.
